10% Cut
As you know the governor has cut the state’s budget by 10%. This is a harsh cut to school districts. Rest assured, we will continue to offer all the successful programs that we have for decades. The district will work through this setback. If you would like to hear more about this cut, Governor Chet Culver did an interview on Iowa Public Television on October 16, 2009. It is being rebroadcast on television and can be watched with transcripts at http://www.iptv.org/iowapress/transcript_detail.cfm?ipShowNum=3706.

A Special Thank-You!
I would like to send a special thank you to the Fremont County Community Foundation through the Community Foundations of Southwest Iowa for approving our grant for $4,640. Those dollars will be used to merge our physical education curriculum with exciting technology! This will be putting the power of Wii technology into our fitness program. Purchasing of the equipment has started and we hope to have everything set up before Thanksgiving.
